In the fall of 2003, my daughter & I arrived at TSU for my daughter's first semester of college. When I discovered that Wanda was my soror I said, "Take care of my baby for me." To my surprise, she put away what she was doing to help my daughter sign up for the classes she needed to be successful. I returned home knowing my daughter was in good hands. Four years later at my daughter's graduation Wanda said, "I took care of your baby." Thank you again soror. Rest in eternal peace.

She’ll always be remembered & never forgotten for her sweet, kind & giving spirit, love & dedication for the kids in children church & for her signature song in our church choir “going up yonder to be with my Lord”. Condolences to the family. As a student, I remember going to get advised in her office and we would sit and talk about everything. She was the funniest professor ever and would always be available to listen and give advice. I remember on the first day of class she said, “Please don’t come tell me that the answers are not in the book, because I know what’s in the book.” She then lifted the book and turned to the authors section where she pointed out her name. She then laughed and said, “Y’all got me?” I will forever cherish moments like these in her class. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Burrell,
You were such a blessing to me. You listened, encouraged, prayed and stood up for me. Your smile was all I needed somedays to put my mind at ease. I will miss you dearly. You gave unselfishly of yourself and only asked that I never give up. I will miss our conversations of bargain shopping and investing in hearing aids. My, how you made me laugh! Though I will miss you, I will cherish every moment with you and every lesson you taught me. Rest well Angel. You deserve everything heaven has to offer. My heartfelt condolences to the family. ❤❤❤

Professor Burrell truly helped me all four years of school. She was my favorite professor and I know she got tired of seeing me in all of her classes. I constantly updated her after I graduated, and she even helped me get into pharmacy school by writing my letter of recommendation. Her personality was one of a kind. I will miss her dearly and I will keep all of her family and friends in my prayers.
