Linda Chilvers Obituary

Linda Elizabeth Chilvers passed away on August 12, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 72. Born on March 30, 1953, in Edinburgh, Scotland, she was the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Catherine Chilvers.

Educated at the University of St Andrews, Linda earned her degree in computing at a time when few people had even heard of computers-an early testament to her trailblazing spirit. She went on to build a remarkable career as a computer programmer, project manager, and team leader across several airline and travel-related companies. Her work took her across every continent except South America and Antarctica, with frequent voyages to Asia.

Beyond her career, Linda was an adventurer at heart. She traveled widely for pleasure, holding a special place in her heart for cruises-she embarked on at least 20 cruises around the globe, though Antarctica remained out of reach. A lover of the outdoors, she reveled in downhill skiing-complete with dabbling in amateur racing-and enjoyed quiet, joyful moments kayaking and playing golf. Her artistic pursuits included photography and interior decorating, both of which revealed her keen eye and creative flair.

Friends and family will fondly remember Linda's warmth, culinary talent, and gracious hospitality. She had a gift for organizing dinners and social gatherings, where she enjoyed conversation and loved to tell stories about her experiences. She also liked to sit at a cafe or restaurant sipping a glass of wine and spending time people watching.

Linda is survived by her husband, Lonnie Brawley, with whom she shared nearly 39 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Catherine Chilvers.
