Ronald Nye Obituary
Ronald Bruce Nye passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 78.
Ronald Bruce Nye's story began on March 26, 1947 in Burley Idaho, born to Charles W. and Alta S. Nye. From the very start, he had a spark - the kind of quiet strength and humor that would carry him through a lifetime of love, hard work, and adventure.
He grew up in the foot hills of Bountiful, where he learned to operate equipment before he could legally drive a car. Him, his father, and three brothers built many homes together throughout the Salt Lake Valley. He participated in patriotism by joining the National Guard and carried that love for his country throughout his entire life. Those early days shaped the man he would become - steady, humbly, and always willing to lend a hand.
In 1977, Bruce married Caren, the love of his life in picturesque Colorado amongst the crisp fall breeze. Together, they built a beautiful life in Utah, raising Jamie, Lindsey, Neil and Bryan creating a home filled with laughter, Sunday dinners and stories that will be told for generations. They eventually uprooted and chose to travel North to the little town in Driggs, Idaho where they reestablished and began their new adventure as a family.
Bruce worked as a craftsman, and he took great pride in doing things the right way - whether it was fixing something with his own two hands, mentoring younger coworkers, or making sure every detail was just right and everything was leveled and squared to perfection.
Outside of work, he could usually be found fishing in a cold river stream, camping in the mountains, petting a dog, tinkering around the yard, getting together at the family cabin in Bear Lake, dragging his camper across the western U.S. supporting his family and grandchildren in all of their wild hobbies, or just embracing any adventure with Caren. He had a knack for avoiding smiling in photos, making people laugh, teaching us tips and tricks of the trade, and showing compassion to anyone who needed it.
To his Family, Bruce was more than a father or grandfather - he was a teacher, a storyteller, and a steady hand to hold when life got tough. He taught by example, showing that love is expressed through action - through showing up, working hard, and never giving up.
He leaves behind his beautiful wife Caren Nye. Two daughters and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be determined at a later date. Friends and family are invited to share stories and celebrate a life well-lived by letter or message.
He will be remembered through the memories and little sayings he gave us such as "Love you sweetie," "I just don't know," "what do you think?," "Thanks my little helper," "Hey Bud," and "Love you Babe!"
These things will continue to carry his family forward amongst all the small things that will remind them of him.
