Adrian L. "Ade" Ketchum, age 74, of Corning, NY passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.

Ade was born on October 20, 1941 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Lewis H. and the late Grace L. (Wilson) Ketchum. He was a graduate of Corning Northside High School, class of 1958. For a number of years, Ade was the communication link between the Northside Alumni Association and many of the late 50's graduating classes.

He was employed as a manager in the Micrographics Department for Dresser-Rand of Painted Post, retiring with 27 years of service. Ade was a 50+ year member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). He held numerous positions in the Glen Region including becoming the Regional Executive three times and was honored with multiple awards both by the region and nationally for his involvement. Ade played an important role in leading Corning Inc. to purchase the Watkins Glen Race Circuit. Ade had a passion for photography and was recognized numerous times for his work. He also was chief photographer for Watkins Glen International for many years and was inducted into the Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to Motorsports in 1990. He was a member of the Governing Council of the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen.

Ade was also involved with many other local organizations including being the past treasurer of Lions International for District 20 E-2, past member of the Corning and Painted Post Lions Clubs, later becoming President for the Painted Post club. He was a past board member for the Southern Tier Association of the Visually Impaired in Elmira and the Steuben ARC in Bath. Ade had broad interests and deep involvement in many areas. Whenever he undertook anything, he was very serious about the desired results and very dedicated to what he did.

He is survived by two cousins: Nancy (Gregory) Redell of Wellsboro, PA and Nancy (Lavern) Haas of New Lipswitch, NH; and many close friends.

It was always a pleasure to talk to Ade whether it was about which car or driver was the best or how Corning was in the past when we were younger.

I worked with Ade at I-R/D-R. He was an expert photographer. He was also key to implementation of the of many of the new systems we still use today for handling drawings at D-R. Aside from that I always remember Ade as helpful and friendly. His response was "we can do that Bill". He will be missed by myself and many others and remembered as a good friend. -Bill Wirz

What a great friend & photographer. I worked with Ade at Ingersoll-Rand & Dresser-Rand Co. in Painted Post, NY. We photographed a World Class motorcycle trial in PA together and shared the photos. I attended many of his presentation of photos over the years. He had such a visual history of racing! I even visited him in the Corning Hospital the day he had a collapsed lung, comming back from lunch. I have thought about him many times since he and now I have left work. We were out of touch but not out of mind. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Ade's passing. We worked side by side many times at WGI during the racing season. Ade was a great contributor to The Leader's visual coverage of the LPGA Corning Classic for many years. Ade was a good friend and a great human being. My sincere condolences to the family.
