Alexa Dobson Obituary
Alexa was born on May 6, 1990 in Corning, NY, the daughter of Christopher P. and Karen L. (Roll) Dobson. Alexa spent a number of years as her father's second hand on his saw mill.
Alexa played catcher on various softball teams throughout her youth. She enjoyed watching movies, playing video games and reading anything she could get her hands on. She will be remembered for her avid love of animals – enjoying fishing and hunting small and big game.
She also loved riding her dirt bike around her family property. Being outdoors is what made her truly happy – helping her grandmother and other family with outdoor sprucing whenever she had the chance. Her sisters will remember her as a protective sister who would do anything for them.
She is survived by her father, Christopher P. Dobson of Painted Post, NY; mother, Karen L. Dobson; three sisters: Chelsey (Mike) Winnie of Painted Post, NY, Caitlin Dobson of Painted Post, NY and Ashlin Dobson of Corning, NY; brother, Christopher Dobson of Painted Post, NY; maternal grandfather, Jack Roll of Caton, NY; paternal grandmother, Bonita Dobson of Painted Post, NY; nieces and nephew: Sarah, Sadie and Benjamin Winnie; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved canine companions, Miah and Ruger.
Alexa was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Olin Dobson; maternal grandmother, Shirley Roll; aunt, Denise Treusdell; and uncle, Daniel "Buzzy" Dobson.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00 pm, with Barb Rossi officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alexa's name may be sent to: Tanner's Paws, 117 W. Market St., Corning, NY 14830 to save an animal in need.
