I was very sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. I will unfortunately be out of town for her memorial and I am sorry for that. Barbara was a neighbor and a very energetic one at that. We would often visit during her comings and goings to her music and poetry sessions. She often told me how she loved teaching children poetry..
I saw her at Thanksgiving when I brought my 6 year old granddaughter to visit her. She and Giuliana sang songs and read stories together. It was fun watching Barbara engage with her. You could tell Barb enjoyed children and was a good teacher. I will miss her in the neighborhood. God grant you all peace and joyful memories.

Ryan,
I was working at Campbell School with your grandmother when you were born. She eagerly stepped into the joyous job of grandma with ease. She loved to tell about all the fun she had spending time with you. I was so pleased to read that she had great grand- children that she had time to know and enjoy. When they look up at the stars at night, may they know their grandma is reading them their favorite bedtime story.

From Meadow Brook apartments In Coning to many years In Danville, Va.. Barbara and my wife Madeleine were the closest of friends...sharing laughter and tears.....they were both kind of off the shelf. They kept in touch until my wife developed dementia and into Alzheimer's. We both love her and I can imagine how she will be missed.

We will miss our wonderful conversations at Hokey Pokey's. You were one of the sweetest people we had ever met. Rest in Peace, Barbara.
