Christopher Yarka Obituary
He was born April 22, 1960 in Bath, NY the son of Chester and Beverly (Smith) Yarka. He worked for Bennett's Auto Parts of Bath. Chris loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lori J. Yarka; children, Lucus Yarka, Owen Yarka, Mathew Lafler, Melinda Yarka, Christin Yarka-Fry, Ashleigh Yarka-Jacques and Melissa Lafler, several grandchildren, his mother Beverly Ashcraft; brothers, Rick Yarka, Mark Yarka and Steven Ashcraft and sisters, JoAnn Yarka and Brandy Ashcraft and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael Lafler, father Chester Yarka and brother David Yarka.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of his Life at the Bath V.F.W. on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Condolences may be made at www.fagansfuneralhome.com.

Uncle Chris was always a tough nut to crack. But I loved him so very much! I have so many memories of him growing up. I remember believing he had a glass eye.... lol. My favorite memory will always be the day he slipped and said I love you too Jody on the phone. I squealed and Aunt Lori and I had such a laugh over it. I miss you so much already. Rest easy with Gigi and Papa uncle Chris. Until we meet again. I love you. And I promise not to call Aunt Lo during dinner time!

When I first met Chris he told me he had a wooden leg. When he started dating my sister Lori I asked her if he did have a wooden leg and she told me he did. I believed that for some time till I saw him in shorts. They both enjoyed teasing me about that. Rest in peace Chris.
