Clarence Stevens Obituary
Steve served in the Medical Corps of the US Army in the Philippine Islands during WWII and was awarded several medals including, a World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He played as a trombonist in General McArthur's band, and later formed his own dance band "Esquires" in Corning, NY. In 1949, he married Gwendolyn Bistoff Stevens. Steve worked for Ingersoll-Rand Corporation for 37 years and retired as a Production Manager in the Air Power Division. He was a Melbourne resident since 1986.
Steve is survived by his spouse, Gwendolyn; his son, Dr. Kurt Stevens; and his two grandchildren, Kyle and Jennifer Stevens.

I especially remember Cousin Clarence as a photographer. His parents, Aunt Frances and Uncle Wesley, lived next door to my grandmother on Pulteney Street in the 1940s. Some of his photos of the family were passed on to me from my parents. I recall many visits to Clarence and Gwen at holidays. Happier times remembered.
