Tom, Ben and Becky. Karen was a gift to all she met and all that knew her - a wonderful wife and companion and a great parent and friend. She was truely an inspiration to me and many more of us who fight the good fight.

When I think of Karen, I can only think of her as someone who deserves a lot of credit for what she was able to accomplish both in and out of the classroom. It was the consistent example she set in her everyday life that really impacted me and so many others. She was a teacher who displayed professionalism while continually looking for ways to take her students' learning to the next level. She knew when it was time to have some fun, but also when work needed to be done. Any time that she complimented me early in my teaching career, it always meant a lot to me because those words came from someone I respected a great deal. She was kind, but also had an undeniable strength of character. I will always remember her fondly.
