Lemuel James Morrell, age 86, of Bath, NY, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bath, NY. He was born June 30, 1927 in Limestone, Maine the son of Lemuel and Beatrice Edgecomb Morrell. He was a member of the Avoca Legion, Bath B.P.O.E. 1547 and the Masons of Bath. He was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter and fisherman.

He was a retired potato farmer who owned and operated Morrell Farms in Avoca.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Rooks of Bath, grandchildren; Brian (Susie) Morrell of Horseheads, Jason (Dallas) Morrell of Avoca, Kevin (Lauren) Morrell of Bath, Erin Morrell of Avoca, Brett Walters of Canisteo, Craig Walters of Allentown, GA, Ryan (Elizabeth) Rooks of Bath, and Jillian Rooks of Boston, great grandchildren, Kade Morrell Slayton, Daymon Walters, Dakoeta Walters, Kaylee Walters, Madison Morrell, Sydney Morrell and Jude Morrell, sisters, Ruth Richardson of Elmira and Joyce Poitras of Florida, brother Fred Morrell and daughter-in-law Gloria Morrell. He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen Morrell, son Duane Morrell and siblings, Harold, Gerald and Roween Morrell.

Friends may call on Monday July 29, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY, funeral services with military honors will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home, and a Masonic Service will also be held Monday evening.
Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
