Mark Cecce

Mark Cecce, age 56 recently passed away at home in Troy, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents Sheridan (McFarland) and Henry Cecce.

Mark is survived by son, Anthony Cecce and grandchildren, Isaiah, Kalab, Mason, and Annabel; his loving sister Margaret Cecce and with sons, Andrew Cecce and Henry Dari. Mark also is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Best friend, Anne Curtis, also mourns his loss.

In the 1980's Mark was a stellar student at Corning Community College, serving as Student Body President. He was instrumental in bringing Carl Sagan to the campus for a lecture, followed by a question and answer period. Besides being an accomplished student, he was also in the Army Reserves at this time, after successfully serving on active duty from 1979 to 1983, where he served in Korea, was a drill sergeant and also in Special Forces.

After leaving Corning he pursued studies in nursing and was a nurse for several years, later he made a career change, obtaining his CDL license and became a truck driver, which he enjoyed for several years until his retirement.

Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street, Corning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carpenter's Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs.
