Raymond Cotter Obituary

Raymond F. Cotter, 89, of Painted Post, NY, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Corning Hospital.

Raymond was born September 6, 1928, in Corning, NY, the son of Cornelius Cyril and Margaret (Wilhelmina) Cotter.

He was a graduate of Painted Post High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Colgate University in 1952.

Raymond was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1952 to 1954.

He was an Executive Director for AIM Independent Living Center in Corning, Director of Auto Transportation and Manager of the Steuben Coordinated Transportation in Bath.

Raymond was Past Commandant of the Southern Tier Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Past President of the Painted Post High School Alumni Association, a member of the Corning VFW Post 524, Corning American Legion and the Legendary 'Amigos' Trivia Team.
He is survived by his Sisters, Rita Mae Cotter of Painted Post and Joan L. Candleana of Painted Post; Sister-in-laws, Peggy Cotter, Rita Maio Cotter of Corning; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and one of the most wonderful caregiver you could ask for Cindy Barnes of Savona.

He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Brothers, James Cotter, Gene Cotter, Donald Cotter and his Sister, Anna Dahlgren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to: Steuben Coordinated Transportation, 50 Liberty St., Bath, NY, 14810 or to the Steuben County Office of the Aging, 3 East Pulteney Square, Bath, NY 14810.
