Richard Mattison Obituary

BATH, NY.; Richard G. Mattison, 65, passed away suddenly on Sunday January 20, 2019 at Corning Hospital.

He was born in Bath, NY on March 17, 1953 the son of the late Rev. Kenneth L. Mattison and Agnes B. Sullivan Mattison.

He married Tina Smith on July 5, 1997 in Bath, New York.

He was self employed owner and operator of Mattison Trucking in Bath, NY. He also was a Livestock dealer for Foss Livestock.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing (salmon) he enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and was a great family man.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry Stewart who was like a 2nd dad, brother-in-laws Louis, Marion, Chuck, Mark and Neil.

He is survived by his loving wife Tina, children Brian, Gina (Ryan) Crawley, Jason, Richie (Hannah), Nathan, 3 grandchildren Kegyn, Cayden, Levi, siblings David, Martha (Rick) Trenchard, Ann Giardina, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, special friends Larry and Greg Dickson and the Foss family, and many in-laws.

Calling hours are being observed on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath where his Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 28, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Larry O'Dell Officiating. Burial Nondaga Cemetery Bath, NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard's memory to the National Down Syndrome 8 E. 41st Street 8th Floor, New York , NY 10017 or ndss.org/donate or Dementia Society of America P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or dementiasociety.org/donate.

Rich was a great family man, person and a very special friend to me(Sandy and Carl Yeoman) he opened up the door to help us buy our 1st home from him and we loved it just after all the boys where gone it was way to big for us. We enjoyed Rich coming over mornings and some evenings for coffee. He will surely be missed by us.RIP Rich you'll never be forgotten
