RUBEN JIMENEZ

Ruben A. Jimenez was born on April, 1, 1927, in El Centro, CA to Antonio and Cresencia Jimenez. Ruben went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October, 15, 2014, at the age of 87. Ruben was a hard working self made man. His work ethic was admired by people that knew him. He labored at a very young age in the fields of Arizona and California. In Azusa, CA he owned his construction business. In Fresno, CA he worked as a truck driver, diesel mechanic, and eventually owned his own trucking business and roadside service. Ruben and Luisa also became owners of a semi-professional team known as the Fresno Prospectors, formally Fresno Raiders. Ruben was a World War II veteran. He often elaborated on how the United States Army had changed his life and played an important part in his success. Thank you Dad. WE LOVE YOU. Ruben is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Luisa Jimenez; and his baby brother, Elias Jimenez. He is survived by his children, Frank Jimenez and his wife Lydia of Riverside, CA, Frances Rodriguez and her husband Joe of Fresno, CA, and Freddie Jimenez and his wife Noemi of Squaw Valley, CA; his siblings, Ramona Mares, Sally Garcia and Jenny Cantu, all of Parlier, CA, Tony Jimenez Jr. of Yuma, AZ, Elvira Lopez of Azusa, CA; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Yost & Webb Chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at St. John's Cathedral, at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's Cathedral on Friday, October 24, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Interment at Belmont Memorial Park.
