Thomas Jay Gerych

Thomas Jay Gerych, age 54, of Bath, NY passed away June 2, 2020 at home, after a brief illness. Thomas graduated from Haverling in 1984 and was working as an Electrician for Schuler-Haas Electric Corp. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union Local 139. Tom loved to garden and tinker with tractors and machinery on the Gerych Homestead, which he called home. The youngest of eight children, Tom was a kind soul and will be remembered for his sharp wit, intelligence, cheerful easy going personality and most of all, his willingness to help anyone who asked. Tommy was our "gentle giant", and enjoyed every moment spent with family. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and NASCAR fan, and an immense dog lover and tamer.

Tom is survived by his mother, Helen (Janick) Gerych Slayton; siblings, Cherie Gerych, Joseph Jr. (Deborah) Gerych, Richard Gerych, Pamela (Anthony) Lisefski, Betty Gerych, Donna Gerych and David (Candace) Gerych; aunts, Olga (Carl) Savino, Jean Gerych and Barbara Janick; many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and his dog Ty. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Gerych, aunts, uncles and furry pal Buddy.
