Katie Williams Obituary
The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 12:30 - 1:45 at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Katie was a big fan of Elvis, and a big part of her life was Parker's Bar-B-Que. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend that will be dearly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories.
Katie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Donald W. Williams; daughters, Renee Williams Spreadbury and husband, Pete of Lucama, and Teresa Williams Day and husband, Tim of Lucama; grandchildren, Michael Day and wife, Tiffany, Jennifer Carter and fiancé, Keelan, Casey Day, and Emily Spreadbury; great-grandchildren, Mason Day, Leland Carter, Garrison Day, and Colton, Day, and her sister, Pattie Walston of Havelock.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Williams, Jr. who passed in 2014; adopted parents, William "Bill" and Josephine Peaden; parents, Marvin and Mary Christine Walston, and her siblings, Bobby, Earl, Leroy, James "Buddy", Tommy, Nann, Jean and Edna Earle.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Wilson, and especially her caregivers, Shallon, Helen, Renee, and Janeth for their care, compassion, and comfort they provided for Katie.

Donald I am so sorry for the loss of your wife Katie . She was a big part of your business and one of the keys to its success. I understand she was one of the major motivations behind the Parkers team with both you , Eric and Kevin . I will miss seeing you guys eating lunch specials together at all of the other restaurants in our town . The Hunt family will have your family in our prayers .
