Robert Russell Myers, 85, lovingly known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Goldsboro, NC. Born on April 12, 1940, in Bath County, KY, Bob's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness, his ability to lend a hand, and his deep love for his family. Bob shared 54 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Wilma Jean Myers. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and the joy of raising their three children: Bobbi Riley and her husband Ricky of Bailey, NC, Lynn Florence and her husband Jeff of Georgetown, KY, and their son Christopher Myers of Kenly, NC. Bob was a cherished grandfather to Missy Batten and her husband Steven, Jessica Vaselopulos and her husband Kris, James Florence and his wife Chelle, Jennifer Arnold and her husband Jared, Michael Riley, and Taylor Riley. His legacy further lives on through his 13 great-grandchildren, who will miss their "Papa" dearly. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Mr. Myers was precede in death by his parents, William and Mable Myers and also was predeceased by his brother and sister brother and sister. Bob's life was rich with experiences that far surpassed the value of formal education. His work as a landscaper allowed him to shape the beauty of the natural world, a testament to his appreciation for creation and his eye for detail. He was a man of faith, living his Christian beliefs through his actions and his generous spirit. An avid outdoorsman, Bob found solace in hunting and the tranquility of nature. He was a passionate fan of NASCAR racing and University of Kentucky basketball, displaying an enthusiasm that was both infectious and endearing. Bob's joy was most evident when he was sitting on the back porch, surrounded by the many friends he cherished throughout his life. However, it was the time spent with his family that Bob valued above all else, embracing every moment as a treasured memory. Bob Myers was the embodiment of love and kindness. His hands, always ready to fix what was broken, were a symbol of his handy and resourceful nature. Bob left an indelible mark of happiness on the hearts of those he encountered. As we remember Bob, we reflect on a life well-lived, a man who was the cornerstone of his family, and a friend to all. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and the simple joys of life, a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. Bob Myers will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be a beacon of light for his family and friends. A celebration of Mr. Myers' life will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Wave Church, 5334 Lamm Rd, Wilson, NC 27893 with the Pastor Daryl High and the Pastor Travis Sherrod officiating.
