CLARKS SUMMIT — Eileen F. Perrier, 75, of Clarks Summit, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Her husband was the late Frederick J. Perrier. The couple had been married for 35 years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Rose (Regienes) Kokoszka. After spending most of her life in Brooklyn, Eileen moved to Pennsylvania in 2005. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was an avid fan of horror movies. She simultaneously read books and when she took a break on reading, she worked on search word books. She loved to walk, and took great pride in her plants and gardening. Her homemade Polish cooking was a favorite which she shared with her friends. She was known for her beautiful crocheted blankets which seemed to last the test of time.
Eileen enjoyed listening to her favorite Brooklyn-born singer, Neil Diamond. She could light up any room with her presence and made friends for a lifetime. Friends, new and old, loved her sassy sayings and clever comebacks. She was an animal lover and would feed and care for any animal before thinking of herself. She was a stubborn, no-nonsense kind of woman, but would be by your side in a heartbeat to help out.
She is survived by her children, Diane Caputo, of New Jersey, John Perrier, of New York, and Robin Leon; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica and Melissa Perrier, Jasmin and J.J. Colon, great-grandchildren, Zachary and Rowan Perrier.
She was an original, one of a kind that will never be replaced. She will be dearly missed.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dessin Animal Sheter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale.

I always saw you as a strong minded, quick witted, loving grandma. I like to think that you gave each of us a bit of that strength and wit, in exchange for taking a piece of our hearts. You are soarly missed and will be forever remembered.

I remember the times we laughed so hard we couldnt see straight. I remember the spur of the moment adventures we used to go on and the fact you could never have enough plants. Our time together was short but it was time well spent.
You saw me take my first breath, i saw you take your last. Rest in peace mom.
