Patricia Clark Obituary

MONROE TWP. — Patricia Mae (Holley) Clark, of Monroe Township, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was a beloved mother, nana and friend. She touched the lives of everyone she met and brought out the best in people. She, within the first few minutes of meeting someone, would not only make them feel like family but would do anything for anyone, even if it meant giving you the shirt off of her back if she felt you needed it more than she did. Heaven has gained an exceptional angel and we can all be comforted knowing that she is watching over us all.

Patricia was born and grew up in Auburn Center, the daughter of the late William Henry and Minnie Viola (Farr) Holley. She was a Methodist, saved in 1958, and was a graduate of the Elk Lake School District, class of 1960. She taught Sunday school at the Gospel Center in Meshoppen and later in life at the Vernon Baptist Church.

On July 28, 1962, Patricia married George Edward Clark and lived in Beaumont with their three children, William, Carol and Stephen.

At the age of 49, she put herself through nursing school and received her LPN license. Her first nursing job was at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Over the course of her career, Patricia worked at various nursing homes where she tenderly looked after people during all stages of life. Nursing was her passion, as she loved helping people and it shined through everything she did.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, George "Ed" Clark; and her brothers, William and Fredrick Holley.

Surviving are her children, William Clark, of Beaumont, Stephen and wife, Marita Clark, of Crestwood, Ky., and Carol Layaou, of Mansfield; sisters, Nellie Benninger and Iva Benninger, both of Meshoppen, and Mildred "Jean" Heeman, of South Carolina. Patricia Clark is also survived by six grandchildren, Holley Hilbert, Brianna Clark, Malcolm Layaou, Mariah Clark, Samantha Clark and Matthew Clark; as well as two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Davies and Jenna Davies.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Nulton-Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Township (Beaumont), with Pastor Val Rommel, of the Noxen United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Orcutt Grove Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Love you and miss you already!

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
