WILKES-BARRE — Sondra P. Greenberg, of Owings Mills, Md., formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Northwest Hospital, Randallstown, Md.
Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Minnie Grossman Garber and was a graduate of Tilden High School. Sondra was employed for 42 years at Sears Roebuck in the catalog and floor sales department. She was active with the Jewish War Veterans and volunteered for 20 years for the Israeli Army. Sondra was a member of the Temple B'nai B'rith, Kingston; Jewish Community Center, its Leisure Lounge, and many other civic and religious organizations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Greenberg, in 2017.
Sondra is survived by her sons, Mark Greenberg, Allan (Susan) Greenberg, Kevin (Christine) Greenberg; grandchildren, Zachary (Miriam) Greenberg, Jayne (Markus) Ward, Benjamin Greenberg, Joshua (Tatiana) Greenberg and Jacob (Katie) Greenberg; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Greenberg; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Anshe Emes Cemetery, Plains.
Shiva will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at The Woodlands Inn and Resort followed by 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, and Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 348 South River St., Wilkes-Barre, Rear Second Floor.
