LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Arnold A."Puckie" Mury Jr., Age 81, who died Friday, August 11, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center with his family at his side.

Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum in Lafayette.



Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.

To cherish his memory, a daughter, Robbin Mury Davis and her husband, William J. "Bill" Davis of Lafayette; a son, Darrin G. Mury and his wife, Tina Terro Mury of Scott; a sister, Brenda Mury Barry; two brothers, Rodney Mury and his wife, Carline and Robert "Bob" Mury and his wife, Debbie; six grandchildren, Brittany Mury DesOrmeaux LeBlanc, Brandon James Davis, Dillon Michael Davis, Kristin Mary DesOrmeaux, Cullen Paul Mury and Marlee-Kate Maria Mury; three great grandchildren, Alaina Lynn Morgan, Elise Marie Davis and Sloane Lucille LeBlanc.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Lee "Doody" Redmon Mury; parents, Arnold A. Mury, Sr. and Cecil Simoneaux; one son, Arnold A. "Chuck" Mury, III and one brother, Aldon Mury.

A native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life, Arnold A. "Puckie" love playing tennis, camping, was an avid LSU and Saints Football Fan and loved spending time with his family and friends. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brandon Davis, Dillon Davis, Cullen Mury, Tracey Mury, Chad Barry and Scott Barry.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 12:00 P. M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed by Brady LeBlanc on Sunday at 6:30 P.M. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
