Calvin Humble Obituary
LAFAYETTE - A Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Calvin W. Humble, 60, who passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm and resumes Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 8:30 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.
Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Pastor Jimmy Lormand of Lake Charles will officiate.
Calvin was born November 25, 1955 in Lafayette and was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge. He had a passion for photography and enjoyed taking pictures of dog-herding and agility trials.
Calvin was initiated into the Louisiana Beta Chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity in 1976. After graduation, Calvin remained active in Alumni activities for the past 40 years. At the time of his passing, he was on the board of directors for the LA Beta House Corporation. Calvin was also the current President of the South Central Louisiana Alumni Association for Phi Kappa Psi, which served all brothers in South Louisiana.
Calvin is survived by his spouse of nine beautiful years, Dianne Kiger-Humble of Baton Rouge; his stepdaughter, Kathryn Anne Wildey and her husband, Randall of Fruitport, MI; his sister, Cheryl Humble Dufour and her husband, Christopher of Lafayette; his brother, Carlton Ray Humble and his wife, Laura of Lafayette; two nieces, Haley Rose Dufour and Madison Humble, both of Lafayette and numerous dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Shirley and Wanda Jewel Faulk Humble; his maternal grandparents, Cornelius N. and Faydra Hoffpauir Faulk and his paternal grandparents, Arthur Wynn and Mary Alzoe Quebedeaux Humble, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Marcin, William Marcin, Randall Wildey, Durwood Keller, Robert Bender and Richard Blackwell.
A scholarship fund has been established in Calvin's name to benefit Phi Kappa Psi undergraduate members. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Louisiana Beta Chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, contact Durwood Keller, 225-241-2074.
