Chris Guidry Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, for Chris Ann St. Upery- Guidry, age 56, who died on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center after a hard battle of lung cancer, a battle not lost in our eyes.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Milton, Louisiana.
Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Con Celebrant will be Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen, assisted by Deacon Cody Miller. Lectors will be Sandra DeRouen and Zachary Guidry. Giftbearers will be Ross and Toni Fremin. Eulogist will be her husband, Toddy Guidry. Karen Broussard, organist will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Pie Jesu" and "Be Not Afraid".
Survivors include her husband, William "Toddy" Guidry III, one son, Zachery Emile Guidry; her father, Emanuel L. St. Upery; two sisters, Sandra and her husband Dr. Mark DeRouen and Toni and her husband Ross Fremin; four brothers, Rene St. Upery and his wife Beverly, Ricky St. Upery and his wife Toni, Mark St. Upery and his wife Tracy and Andre' St. Upery and his wife Simone; numerous nieces and nephews; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William "Bill" W. Guidry Jr. and Flo B.Guidry; her brother-in-law, Marcus Guidry and his wife Jill and sisters-in-law, Alyce Guidry and Marcelle Guidry.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Mae DeRouen St. Upery; two brothers, Glenn St. Upery and Wayne St. Upery.
Chris was born on April 7, 1956 in New Iberia, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Community, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan. Chris loved spending time with her family and friends. She was co-owner of Ultimate Weight and Wellness in New Iberia. Chris was previously employed as a Registered Nurse at Lafayette General Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Guidry Jr., Miles St. Upery, Anthony St. Upery, Marcus St. Upery, Brenon Fremin, Brandon Fremin and Kyle Fremin.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Monday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Chris Guidry's name to the Miles Perret Center, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, LA 70508. 337-984-1920.

She was a true friend, and will be dearly missed. There are no words for the pain I feel from her lost or for the pain her family is going through. I have some comfort knowing she is not suffering anymore and a little part of her spirit is in all of us. Rest in peace Chris!!
