LAFAYETTE - A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Curtis Clade Benoit, 84, who died on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette.

Reverend Dan Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the memorial services. Lectors will be Liz Higgins, Shantel Jones and Brandy Richard. Giftbearers will be Delaney Higgins and McKenzie Higgins.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Merline Roy Benoit of Lafayette; one daughter, Jo Richard and her husband Ronnie of Houston, TX; one son, Damon Benoit and his wife Scherry of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Liz Higgins and her husband Jamie, Brandy Richard, Curtis Jones and his wife Shantel and Brad Richard; five great grandchildren, Cory Higgins, Delaney Higgins, McKenzie Higgins, Gavin Jones and Easton Jones; one great great grandchild, Kaylee Higgins; and one sister, Doris Taylor of San Antonio, TX.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Benoit; parents, Deyhart and Henrietta LeDoux Benoit; one sister, Mechie Fuselier; one brother, Henry Earl Benoit; and one great grandson, Gabriel Jones.

A native of Lake Charles and a resident of Lafayette for 54 years, Curtis Benoit was a parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for The Borden Company as an ice cream sales manager for 43 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed on Saturday at 10:30 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
