SCOTT - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Darlene M. Richard, age 55, who passed away suddenly Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 9:15 p.m.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

Ms. Richard was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott. Ms. Richard was a very well liked and happy person, she liked to play cards, pokeno and go fishing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her companion of thirty five years, Billy Lovely Trahan of Scott; her father, James "Jim" Richard of Youngsville; one daughter, Amy Lynn Smith and her husband, Conrad "Chip" Smith, of El Paso, TX; one granddaughter, Ava Smith of El Paso, TX; one brother, David Richard and his wife, Pamela Richard of Broussard; one sister-in-law, Susan Trahan of Scott; one niece, Ericka Broussard and her husband, Scott, of Franklin; three nephews, Spencer Bares, Matthew Bares and Bailey Bares; one godchild, Desiree Thomas and her husband, Donnye, of Butte La Rose; and numerous cousins, friends and card and pokeno players.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Willa "Dean" Richard native of Youngsville.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Scott Broussard, Spencer Bares, David Richard, Randy Chiasson, Conrad Smith and T. Ray Trahan, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Trahan, Sr., Matthew Bares and Bailey Bares.
