Delfred J. "Toot Toot" Broussard

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at a 1:00 PM Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Delfred J. "Toot Toot" Broussard, age 86, who died at 1:57 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Milton, Louisiana.

Chaplain Francis Fontenot of the Carpenter House will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Broussard Lalonde and her husband Tim; two sons, Todd Broussard and his wife Linda and Scott Broussard and his wife Penny, all who reside in Youngsville; eight grandchildren, Sonya Gore and her husband Mike, Dustin Lalonde and his wife Marsha, Nathalie Lalonde, Jake Broussard and fianceé Alesha, Zachary Broussard and his wife Katie, Leah Broussard (Dylon), Cole Broussard (Courtni) and Kaden Broussard; five great grandchildren, Maddox and Jett Gore, Kameron, Karter and Kai Lalonde; a brother in law, Sterling Delcambre and sister in law, Mae Doris Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nathalie Carriere Broussard; his parents, Jerome Broussard and the former Elodie Bourque; siblings, Lucille Bourque, Wilfred "Byo" Broussard, Lloyd Broussard, Vernice Broussard, Clifford "Kip" Broussard and Grace Delcambre.

Mr. Broussard was born and raised in Milton and was a long-time resident of Youngsville, Louisiana. He was currently residing with his son/daughter-in-law, Scott and Penny Broussard, up to the time of his death. Mr. Broussard was a veteran of military service and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged. He was stationed in Detroit, Michigan, where he was known by his comrades as "Frenchie". A plumber by trade, Mr. Broussard worked with Robley Menard as a residential construction plumber for many years until becoming employed by the Lafayette Parish School System from where he retired. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all those who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Nathalie Lalonde, Dustin Lalonde, Cole Broussard, Zachary Broussard, Jake Broussard and Kaden Broussard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his great grandsons.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A French Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Hospital Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and his caregivers, PACE, Scott and Penny Broussard.
