ABBEVILLE - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Donnie Daniel Pere', 73, who died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pere'; daughter, Jodi Pere' Choate and husband Donni Choate; son, Wayne Christopher Pere' and partner Waymond Dale; three grandsons, Kyle Nicholas Choate, Tyler Pere' Choate and Tanner Mitchell Choate; sister, Frances Sue Huey; and great aunt, Margaret Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francis "Slim" Pere' and the former Elrita Decuire; and two brothers, Wayne Pere' and Danny Ray Pere'.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
