Elsie Angelle Obituary
CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro for Elsie Angelle, age 86, the former Elsie Mercier, who died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 8:33 a.m. at her residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Aaron Melancon, pastor of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in Duson, will officiate at the services.
Ms. Angelle was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. She was employed with Angelle's Restaurant as head chef for 13 years. She was previously employed with University Place Apartments in Lafayette. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro. She was the best mom anyone could ask for and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: three sons, Darnell Angelle of Carencro, Morgan Angelle and wife, Adrienne, Michael Angelle and wife, Janelle, all of Lafayette; two daughters, M. Annette Lemon and husband, Ray, of Carencro, Alida A. Sion of Lafayette; sixteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Sibille of Carencro and Emma Lou Martin and husband, Benny, of Houston, TX; and a very dear friend, Eva Ann Alexander and husband, Herman, of Carencro.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifton Joseph Angelle; her parents, Lennis Mercier and the former Helen Babineaux; one daughter, Dianne Cormier; and one son-in-law, Melvin Cormier.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 North University Avenue, Carencro is in charge of arrangements.
