Griffin LeBlanc Obituary

Griffin Luke Vincent LeBlanc

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette for Griffin Luke Vincent LeBlanc, age 11, who died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 due to a tragic accident in Big Lake doing what he loved.

Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.

Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.

Griffin is survived by his parents, Kevin and Michelle Vincent LeBlanc; sisters, Kennedy Claire LeBlanc and Grace Alexandra LeBlanc; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Pat LeBlanc; maternal grandmother, Carol Hebert Singley; Aunt Christi LeBlanc Credeur and Godfather, Uncle Toby Credeur; Uncle Craig Vincent and Aunt Stacy Schouest Vincent; Godmother, Janita Hebert LeBleu and Gary LeBleu; cousins, Katie Beth and Julian Credeur, Brennin Schouest, and Victoria and Avery Vincent. He was loved so deeply by all of his family.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Vincent.

Griffin was born October 12, 2005 to his parents, Kevin and Michelle Vincent LeBlanc. He was a lover of life, the outdoors, (especially fishing), sports, bikes, hats and had a gifted mind for creating. He would spend hours designing, cutting, drawing and building to create things that he used for hobbies. Griffin wanted to be an engineer and would no doubt have excelled at that too. He was a Warrior's spirit to match his kind heart. The games that he played occupied his every thought, so much that he enjoyed even going to practice. He loved his family, friends, his dogs, Ollie, his sugar glider and he was fiercely loyal to every one of them. He was deliberate in his actions and would normally make unusually prudent decisions for a boy his age. Griffin loved life and all things living and was always concerned about the health and welfare of others. Communicating with anyone he encountered was truly a gift he possessed and could talk to anyone, whether they were an 8-month-old baby or an 80-year-old lady. Griffin was an avid story teller and his favorite thing to say before saying anything was "Guess What?" Then he would proceed to give a dissertation of his upcoming project and plans, of which his family was always ready to hear. Griffin left his life and entered Heaven doing something he loved, riding on the water with friends and family.

Serving as Griffin's Pallbearers will be Toby Credeur, Craig Vincent, Lucas Woods, Brennin Schouest, Jason LeBlanc and Matt Gaspard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Peyton Garber and the rest of his Fatima football team and Acadiana Hurricanes Lacrosse Team.
