Jonathan Boudreaux Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at The Family Church on Stone Avenue for Jonathan "Hawk" Wendell Boudreaux, 37, who died October 28, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a long and well fought battle with cancer. Jonathan was reunited in Christ before departing this earth.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Jermaine Joseph of Houston, TX, Jonathan's cousin.
Interment will be in St. James C.M.E. Cemetery in Youngsville, LA.
Jonathan enjoyed life, family and friends. He was known for his friendliness, loving smile and his willingness to assist others. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his gentle heart.
He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Wendell Jr. and Jaydon Sanders Boudreaux and their mother, Shantell Onezine of Lafayette; a friend and companion, Lydia Gauthreaux of Lafayette; father, Darrell Sanders Boudreaux (Eula Polk) of New Iberia; paternal grandmother, Rosabell Boudreaux of Milton; brothers, Reginald Martin Boudreaux (Monica Boudreaux) of Abbeville, Bryan Boudreaux of Youngsville; sisters, Theus M. Prejean (Harold Prejean) of Duson and Shawnette Boudreaux of Youngsville, as well as four nieces and one nephew and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Walker Boudreaux; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Sam Walker; great grandparents, Selvina and Early Walker; grandfather, Ervin Walker Sr. and his wife, Anna Walker; his paternal grandfather, Sanders "Sandes" Boudreaux.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Maison de Teche in Jeanerette, LA for all of their care and time spent with Jonathan; as well as the medical staff at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA and Heart of Hospice.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
