Joseph Young Obituary
OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church for Joseph Young, age 64, who passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. at his residence in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Opelousas. The Rev. Msgr. Keith DeRouen, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Young was a native of Beaumont, Texas and a resident of Opelousas. Joseph was a self-employed plasterer for over 30 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.
Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda G. Young; one son, Edmond Hadnot; two daughters, Brandy Ledet, and husband, Brandon, and Stacey Young Hodari and husband, Kafele; ten brothers, Arnold Young and wife, Catherine, Bradley Young and wife, Cheryl, Marvin Young, Norbert Young and wife, Lisa, Maurice Young, Stephen Young and wife, Debra, Kevin Young and wife, Sabrina, Mark Young and wife, Miranda, Darrell Barry and Eric Durousseau and wife, Deanne; fourteen sisters, Wanda Hoffpauir, Cynthia Young, Nina Young, Cathy Broussard and husband, Peter, Angela Catalon, Brenda Wiltz and husband, Kevin, Monica Young, Marian Menard and husband, Peter, Sandra Savoy, Charlotte Wiltz, Deborah Bryant and husband, Marvin, Bertha Scott, Sheila Berry, Lorraine Smith and husband, James; and one grandchild, Duke Ledet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Young and the former Elsie Durousseau.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Saturday at the funeral home from 7:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Glenda, I was deeply saddened by the news about the death of Joseph. I am so very sorry. This has to be a very difficult time for you. Please remember that you are in my thoughts and my prayers. I remember the first time that I met Joseph. It felt as though I had known him all my life. I know that things will never be the same without him. With the help of the Lord you will become stronger. May the Lord continue to watch over you and your family.
