Lance Dominic Theriot

BREAUX BRIDGE - Lance Dominic Theriot died on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Born November 28, 1960, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, he is survived in death by his beloved children, Jena and Jantz Theriot, and his precious granddaughter, Reese Hartenstein who called him "Pop T". He is also survived by his mother, June Cormier Theriot of Breaux Bridge and his brothers; Mitch Theriot of Houston, Texas; Troy Theriot also of Breaux Bridge; Joey Theriot of Sarasota, Florida; and several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews; the mother of his children Kelli Calais April of Kenner, La; his companion, Margo Grosz of Covington, Louisiana; his furry friend "Gypsy". Lance is preceded in death by his father, Wilton Theriot.

Lance, "Poncho", graduated Breaux Bridge High School in 1978 and began working in Oil and Gas Industry in Lafayette, Louisiana, eventually moving his family to Kenner, Louisiana where he continued his career for thirty-five plus years. He was dedicated, dependable and expert in his field of work. He was an advocate sports fan and especially loved when his son played football at Rummel High School and ULL. Lance had a passion for cooking and was the go-to-guy when it came to preparing food for tailgates, business gatherings, friends and especially family. He justifiably referred to himself as "The Que Master" after winning multiple cook-off competitions such as Fin, Feather & Fur Food Festivals and more. He also, took great pleasure in gardening, a trait inherited from his mother. For the past six years, he was an active member of AA where he unselfishly shared his experiences and reached out to provide support to others. Lance found solace in his catholic faith attending daily mass and Perpetual Adoration throughout the greater New Orleans area. Lance embodied his Louisiana heritage in every sense. His mischievous smile will be remembered and missed by all.

Honoring Lance as pallbearers will be his brothers Mitch, Troy and Joey Theriot, his nephews Casey and Philip Theriot, and friends Carroll Angelle, Ernie Bergeron, and Peter Rozands.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with the family 9:00 AM with mass to follow at 12:00 noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday, February 15, 2016. Interment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks gifts be directed to Lance's favorite philanthropy The Wounded Worrier Project.
