Lawrence Duhon Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2012 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Lawrence "Pu-Put" Duhon, Jr., age 64, who passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Mr. Duhon was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette. He was employed with Broussard Feed Store in Lafayette for over thirty years. Mr. Duhon was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of forty six years, Esther Ruth Cormier Duhon of Lafayette; two daughters, Brenda Thibeaux and her husband, Chris, of Scott and Sonya Broussard and her husband, Shannon, of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Kaylen Broussard, Drake Broussard, Karen Broussard and Claire Thibeaux; two brothers, Gerald Duhon of Lafayette, C.J. Duhon and his wife, Judy, of Lafayette; two sisters, Doris Doucet and her husband, Vernon, of Baytown, TX and Mary Alexander of Lafayette; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Keith James Duhon of Lafayette; his parents, Lawrence Duhon, Sr. and the former Lucille Duffy both natives of Carencro; one brother, Clarence Duhon; and one sister, Florence Bonnet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Chris Thibeaux, Shannon Broussard, Kaylen Broussard, Drake Broussard, Chuck Duhon and Brandon Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Duhon, C.J. Duhon, Harry Alexander, Jr. and Kevin Doucet.
The family of Lawrence Duhon would like to thank the members and staff of Lafayette General Medical Center 9th for their care and support during his stay.
