Mitchell Hanks Obituary
Duson - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at an 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Mitchell Brian Hanks, age 35, who passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 3:05 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro.
Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Duson for most of his life. He worked as a butcher and his hobbies were softball, fishing and shooting pool.
Survivors include his parents, Daniel Hanks and the former, Debra Sonnier, of Duson; one brother, Daniel Hanks, Jr. and his wife, Kirsten, of Lafayette; his paternal grandparents, William Hanks and the former, Elodie Jacquneaux, of Duson; his maternal grandfather, Joseph E. Sonnier and step-grandmother, Sue Sonnier, of Scott; his nephew, Hunter M. Hebert; his nephew who was also his godchild, Landon Hanks; and his niece, Madeline Hanks.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, the former Geraldine Baudoin Thomas; and an infant sister, Joni M. Hanks.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
