Nancy Abney Obituary
Lafayette - Nancy Abney passed away on November 20, 2017. Nancy was born in Raymondville, Texas.
Nancy began her career as a teacher and then moved into banking. She then began a career in real estate, starting her own real estate company in the mid-1980's in Baton Rouge. Nancy often performed acts of profound kindness, quietly or in secret, always preserving the dignity of the recipients.
Nancy will be sorely missed by her son, Dean (Jennifer) Theriot; her grandsons, Garrett (Sara) and Kellen Theriot; their mother, Missy Theriot; her great-grandson, Beau Theriot, and her niece, Tricia Abney. She is also survived by her sweet step-children, Tammy (Charles) Curley, Rebecca (Johnny) Hillman, and John (Angelique) Hammack.
In Heaven, she has joined the love of her life, her husband, Paul Hammack; her parents, Buster and Esther Eggleston Abney; and her brother, Billy Abney.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 24, 2017 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers-Bertrand. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Friday, from 9:00 am until time of service.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
