Patsy Colvin Obituary
LAFAYETTE - A Funeral Service will be celebrated Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Patsy Broughton Colvin, 81, who passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and resumes Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 8:00 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.
Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Richard Meche, Pastor of Christian Life Center in Lafayette, will officiate.
Patsy was born February 26, 1935 in Bernice, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She was a member of Christian Life Center in Lafayette.
Patsy was an avid gardener, always holding firm to her chainsaw! She enjoyed bowling as well as, taking fishing trips in her spare time. Patsy's vibrant personality was what made her a very loving and caring person. She was known to "never meet a stranger, not a day in her life". Most of all, Patsy loved spending time with her family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas W. Colvin, Sr. of Lafayette; one daughter, Portia Colvin Royer and her husband, Carl of Lafayette; two sons, Thomas W. Colvin, Jr. and Jeffrey Dean Puffer, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Carlos Broughton and his wife, Mary Angela of Houston, TX and Jimmy D. Broughton and his wife, Ann of Oakvale, MS; two grandchildren, Krystal Ann Boulanger and Hayden Matthew Royer and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Jefferson and Allie Poland Broughton; two sisters, Dorothy Rose Broughton and Vera Broughton McCurry and two brothers, Hershal "Puggy" Broughton and Harold L. Broughton.
Pallbearers will be Carl Royer, Hayden Royer, Obie Dowell, Louis Alexander, Danny Wallice and Austin Lee.
Honorary Bearers are Paul Kent Broughton.
The family wishes to thank her nurse, Annie Reeves of Home Health Care, for the compassionate care given to Patsy and her family.

I will always remember Pat for her words of wisdom. She once told me if your thinking of doing something and you think it's wrong, don't do it. She said if you do it just once, you'll find out how easy it is and you won't stop. She was a very bubbly sweet person to work with and just be around. She will be missed. I worked with her years ago at PHI.
