Paul Arnold Arceneaux

SCOTT - Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Paul Arnold Arceneaux, 79, who passed away on March 3, 2016 at his residence.

Reverend Andre Metrejean, Associate Pastor, will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Monique Cossich and Patti Robichaux.

Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Paul Arnold was born and grew up in the Rayne/Mire Community. He graduated from Rayne High School in 1955 then joined the U. S. Navy Seabees from 1955 to 1959. He worked in the steel service center business for 45 years and retired from O'Neal Steel, Inc. in December of 2004. He was a former member of the Scott Lion's Club for 30 years, member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Holy Name Society and a resident of Scott since 1961.

Mr. Arceneaux, a resident of Scott, was the son of the late Joseph Warren Arceneaux and the former Frances Maude Lyons.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maud Guilbeau Arceneaux; his two daughters, Ellen Arceneaux of Scott, Paula Guidry of Breaux Bridge and her husband, Billy, one son, Edward Arceneaux of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Katie and Allie Guidry, both of Breaux Bridge, numerous nieces and nephews, and oldest living cousin, Selma Lyons Hebert and his three Godchildren, Giles Arceneaux, Patti Guilbeau Robichaux and Monique Guilbeau Cossich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charlie Arceneaux and three sisters, Edna Mae Hightower, Leora Garrett, and Mathilde Arceneaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited on Saturday evening at 6:00 PM, led by his granddaughters, Katie and Allie Guidry and his cousin, Gadric Lyons Fontenot. Visiting hours will continue on Sunday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Billy Guidry, Frank Arceneaux, Giles Arceneaux, Joey Arceneaux, Charles Guilbeau and David Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Arceneaux, Greg Venable, Joe Hightower and John S. Hightower.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Lourdes Home Health, Fresenius West Home Dialysis and Dialysis Center, Hospice of Acadiana and his caregivers, Mary Dugas and Henrietta Washington.
