SCOTT - Funeral services will be held Monday, September 29, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Stephanie Dawn Cormier, age 49, who passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 7:50 p.m. at her residence in Youngsville.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.

Ms. Cormier was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Scott. She was the owner and operator of GG's Daycare in Scott for six years. She was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Ms. Cormier loved the beach and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends.

Survivors include her mother, Geri Miller and her husband, Walter Gene, of Breaux Bridge; her father, Ronald Dale Cormier, Sr. of Lafayette; her fiancé, Joey Hebert; two sons, Travis Shay Simon and his fiancée, Sheila Jeffers, of Duson and Shovi Kale Simon of Scott; one daughter, Shani Cade Simon of Scott; one brother, Ronald D. Cormier, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Lafayette; one sister, Amy Suzanne Begnaud and her spouse, Lanna, of San Diego, CA; and three grandchildren, Shayden Simon, Deakin Jeffers and Drake Jeffers.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mildred David Mouton and Albert Paul Boudreaux; and her paternal grandparents, Hearl Domingue and Mosley Cormier.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and the Hebert family.

Pallbearers will be Shay Simon, Shovi Simon, Joey Hebert, Derek Hebert, Jacob McBroom and Gene Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Cormier.
