Stevie Benton Obituary
Funeral service will be held Sat. December 26, 2020 at 3pm., in Rose Park Cemetery, Poplarville, MS., for Minister Stevie Lloyd Benton, age 60, of Lafayette, LA., who passed away on Dec. 12, 2020 at his home. Pastor Adam LaDay will officiate the funeral services. The burial will be held at Rose Park Cemetery. A native of Picayune, MS., Stevie was a licensed truck driver, and owner of Benton Transportation Services. He was a Minister of Refuge Temple Ministries in Lafayette, LA and a faithful church member for 30 years. He also served in the United State Army for 10 years.
Survivors include: wife, Silvia Benton of Lafayette, LA., 1 son; Steven Benton of Lafayette, LA; 5 daughters: Charmere (Jermaine) Edwards, Stephanie Benton, Tamara Benton, Nekitha Roy of Lafayette, LA., and Tremeka Coleman of CA: 27 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 brothers: Dr. William (Lillian) Mills of New Brunswick, NJ., and Tony "Sidney" Kirsh of Picayune, MS; 4 sisters; Barbara "Jeanette" Walker, Shelia "Annette" Kirsh, and Carolyn Griffin of Picayune, MS: and Janie "Lois" Doss, of Indianapolis, IN: He was preceded in death by children: Dominick B. Benton, Sherman Coleman and Silvania Benton, parents Razzie Benton and Ethel Mills Kirsh, siblings; Brenda Joyce Kirsh, L.W. Kirsh, Willie "Sonny" Kirsh and Willard James Kirsh Jr. The walk through viewing Dec. 26, 2020 from 11 am until 1pm., at Baylous Funeral Home, and the walk through viewing from 2 pm. until 3 pm., in Rose Park Cemetery, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

Steve was such a good friend with my father, Charles St. Julien. Steve shared some special memories with our family. We will greatly miss you our friend and buddy.
