William Jacobs Obituary

William R. "Bill" Jacobs, Sr.

LAFAYETTE - William R. (Bill) Jacobs, Sr. died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 following a long battle with respiratory complications. Bill was born December 3, 1935 in Berkeley, California. He fell in love with Louisiana when he moved here in the early 60's and has been a Lafayette resident since then.

Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Jacobs, and their son, Matthew Jacobs. He also leaves behind his precious children, Julie Wasek (Alma, Michigan); Terri Jacobs (Lafayette); Billy Jacobs (Baton Rouge); Leslie Jacobs (Lafayette); Jamie Jacobs (Lafayette); as well as their children, his 10 beautiful granddaughters.

Bill was well-known for his infectious laughter, his great sense of humor, and his love for people. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church .Visitation will also take place at Asbury at 11:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. A reception will follow the service in Asbury's Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Asbury Day School's Scholarship Fund will be greatly appreciated.
