Zach Ryan Simon

GUEYDAN - It's with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Zach Ryan Simon announces his passing from this life on November 17, 2012. Zach was 26 years old. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gueydan, LA on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM in honor of his life. Zach will be laid to eternal rest in the Gueydan Cemetery with Father Jason Vidrine officiating his service.

Zachary Ryan was born in Lafayette, LA on September 13, 1986. He was employed at G & H in the sales department. He was a hard worker and earned the profound respect of his fellow employees and costumers. Zach loved to hunt and play the accordion. He also enjoyed sports and coaching football and baseball was his favorite.

Zach is survived by his beloved parents, Jody and Mary Ann Hoffpauir Simon of Gueydan; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Allie Gaspard Hoffpauir of Gueydan; his paternal grandparents, Wilson "Billy" and Mary L. Simon of Gueydan; one brother, Nicholas Simon of Gueydan; his sister, Annie Simon of Gueydan; three uncles, Darrell (Sonya) Hoffpauir of Gueydan, Tony Simon of Prairieville, and Carey (Margo) Simon of Lake Arthur; his two aunts. Beverly (Ronnie) Lougon of Gueydan and Michelle (Marcel) Bergeron of Duson; one great aunt, Ethel Leger of Gueydan; and his cousins, Nathaniel and Sam Hoffpauir, Tonya and Troy Lougon, Margo Sanders, Bo and Brayden Scott, and Taylor Theriot.

Zach now rests in heaven with his beloved family who preceded him in death: his maternal grandfather, Carl Hoffpauir and his uncle Sean Simon.

Visiting hours will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8:00 until the time of his funeral mass.
