Abigail Lee Douglas

Beloved daughter and sister, Abigail Lee Douglas, died on Sunday, October 24 from a traumatic brain injury after her mother's car was rear-ended by a drunk driver on Friday, October 22. Abigail, known affectionately as Abby, was born on March 13, 2012 and lived in Park Timbers where she was known by the neighborhood parents as the "Street Crier" because she greeted everyone with an enthusiastic "Hello!" Abby found her true passion at LA Spirit Cheer, where she was voted by her coaches "Most Likely to Become a Cheer Coach." Cheer soothed her soul. She sparkled. She hugged. She was extremely proud to be a member of not one, but two cheer squads: Clique (Mini Elite 1) and Fame (Youth 1). She was born to perform, whether it was on the competition stage or the living room floor. The fact that she will never hit the mat again is a monumental loss. Abby was a gifted 4th grade student at St. Ann School, where she excelled in many subjects. She had a unique understanding of the Spanish language. She was delighted to learn that her Spanish teacher assumed her parents must speak Spanish at home. Abby quickly responded, "HA! Not my Mama!" Abigail's Celebration of Life will begin with a Viewing at St. Ann Church and National Shrine on Saturday, October 30 at 11 am, with funeral services following at 1 pm. A reception will be held at St. Ann School upon the conclusion of services. Casual attire is encouraged. Abby fancied bright colors and would never want anyone to feel obligated to wear black. Abigail Lee was vibrant, joyful, and sassy. She will be missed most by her parents, Bobby and Sarah Douglas, and her little brothers, Jack and Luke, whom she adored. She is survived by countless family and friends, including her grandparents and godparents: Barbara Champagne (Grandma), Kim Castagnetta and Glenn Angelo (Honey and Poppy), Teresa Douglas (Gammy), Kaitlynn Champagne (Aunt Kaitlynn), and Ryan LeBoeuf (Paran).
