Alex Chauffe III

Mr. Alex Chauffe, III, a life-long resident of Grosse Tete, died on December 26, 2017 at the age of 71. He was a member of Grosse Tete Baptist Church and retired owner of A & L Enterprise and Steve Kent Trucking. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and shooting, and managed Gator Bayou Hunting Club. He is survived by: his wife, Linda Brown Chauffe of Grosse Tete; son, Jeremy Chauffe and wife Mary Ann of Grosse Tete; granddaughter, Kathryn Chauffe of Supulpa, Oklahoma; grandson, Jaycen Chauffe of Grosse Tete; sister, Karen Dupuy and husband Eugene of Livonia; and brother, Michael Chauffe and wife Dianne of Grosse Tete. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander J. Chauffe, Jr. and Florence Joffrion Chauffe. A visitation will be held at Grosse Tete Baptist Church on Friday, December 29 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume at Grosse Tete Baptist Church on Saturday, December 30 at 9:00 am until a service at 11:00 am, to be officiated by Pastor Mark Robinson. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grosse Tete immediately after the service. Pallbearers will be: Brandon Joffrion, Patrick Joffrion, Jody Joffrion, Reese Picard, William Picard, and Michael D. Chauffe, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grosse Tete Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
