Benjamin Paul 'Ben' Backus

Our Super Hero passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 13. He was a skilled gamer; resident and native of Plaquemine, La. Visiting will be at Faith Tabernacle 32615 Gracie Lane Plaquemine, La. 70764 on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6 to 10pm and will resume on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10am until religious services at 2pm, conducted by Pastor Ralph Doiron. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. He is survived by his parents, Noah and Hannah Endres Backus; sister, Annabelle Backus; grandparents, Milton F. "Freddie" Endres and David J. Kinberger, and Cheryl T. "T.C." Dunn Davis and husband Michael; great grandmother, Charlene Bergeron; aunt, Charlie Deann Davis; his treasured pup, Rico; and numerous extended family. Preceded in death by grandmother, Pauline Backus; great grandparents, Rev. Mike and Eva Dunn, Milton F. Endres, Sr., Grandpaw and Grandmaw Bill; and cousin, Styrling Kelley. Pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, Beau Hosch, Curtis Backus, Jody Lee Deville, Aaron Durand and Marvin Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Davis, Athena Smith, Bode Hosch, David Kinberger, Michael Davis, and Dr. Brannon Alberty. Special thanks to all of the Doctors, nurses and medical staff, especially Dr. Brannon Alberty and all the staff at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. that have helped and cared for Ben during his life.
