Benny Boyd Obituary

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away at 3:29pm at the Carpenter House on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 of cancer. Benny was 55 and a retired auto mechanic. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 13th from 10 am until service at 12 pm at Graceworks Church, Hwy. 44, in Prairieville, conducted by Pastor Bill Pruitt. He is survived by his wife Judy White; his mother Helen A. Boyd; step-daughters Barbara & husband David Thompson, Kimberly Martin, Christy Hughes & Breanne Goodroe; son Austin Goodroe; sisters Lady Fields & Kandy Fly; brother Felix Boyd Jr.; 8 grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by his father Felix P. Boyd, Sr. He loved motorcycles and antique cars. He was a great dad figure and could fabricate anything you could draw. We will miss you. To all of you who are mourning Benny's passing I offer my heartfelt sympathy. I've been praying for him during his long illness. I am so glad that he had a family who loved him and took such good care of him through it all. May he rest in peace. I will keep you in my prayers.
