Billy Kesey Obituary

Billy Kesey, a native of McMinnville, TN and a resident of Lutcher, LA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the age of 93. Billy proudly served his country in both the US Navy and US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 32 years. He was a member of SOAR. Billy enjoyed playing golf and riding his bike. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Laiche Kesey; children, Glenda K. Horton, Lanny Kesey, Debbie K. Miller and Billy J. Kesey (Sheila); son-in-law, Richard Horton; grandchildren, Reed Horton (Tiffany), Grant Horton (Ashley), Matthew Kesey, Natasha K. Cottello (Justin), Tommy Weddington (Noy) and Hannah Kesey; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Julius Laiche (Florette); sister-in-law, Marie Cashio; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his foster parents, James and Leona Smith; parents, Willie Mae Ware and Kenneth Kesey; granddaughter, Veleaka W. Covino; siblings, Mary Helen Blackburn (Brown) and Fred Kesey (Jewel); and brother-in-law, Gerald Laiche. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to The National World War II Museum, 945 Magazine St., New Orleans, LA 70130. Rose Lynn Funeral Services has been entrusted with handling his arrangements.
