Dana Jarreau Obituary

"Don't let anyone dull your sparkle." Author Unknown. Dana DiAnn Pourciau Jarreau, a loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, entered into eternal rest on May 18, 2024, at the age of 59 surrounded by her loving family after an 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a native of Morganza and resided in Erwinville. Dana was a 1982 graduate of Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, attended Southeastern University and was a 41-year employee as office manager/best friend of Roy Hebert, CPA. Dana was an avid shopper, loved to decorate her home for the holidays and took great pleasure in hosting get-togethers with family and friends. She was a huge LSU sports fan always sporting her purple and gold bling on game day. She always made a fashion statement with her leopard/tiger print or sparkling outfits. Dana was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland. She is survived by her loving husband who have been together for 46 years and married for 39 years, David "Dukie" Jarreau; miracle twins, Tori Jude and Tyler James Jarreau; sisters, Jeralyn Ewing (Dan); Joni Russo (Vincent); Lori Pourciau; brothers, Charles B. "Brother" Pourciau, Jr. (Brenda); John R. "Sassy" Pourciau; sisters-in-law, Ginger Fabre; Stephanie Jarreau Guarino and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. "Benny Boy" and Eva Pourciau; her beloved nephew, Daniel Lee "Tator" Ewing, Jr.; her father- and mother-in-law, James "Jimmy" and Sharon Jarreau; and brothers-in-law, Barry Jarreau and Michael Fabre. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Hall, 12364 Hwy 416, Lakeland from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow in the church at 11 a.m. with entombment in the mausoleum. A reception will follow to celebrate her life. Pallbearers will be Roy Hebert, Tyler Jarreau, Charles Pourciau, John Pourciau, Michael Pourciau, Brennan Jarreau, Rene Thibodeaux, and Terry Gros. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Wood, Vincent Russo, Corey Pourciau, Tony Guarino, and Ed Shinn. Dana was a pillar of love and strength in her family, ALWAYS putting the needs of her loved ones above her own. The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to Dana's boss, Roy Hebert for his unwavering support and love during Dana's life especially the past 11 months; to Tyler's caregiver, Terry Houston for always being there for Ms. Dana and special thanks to Pointe Coupee Hospice nurses for their expert and compassionate care. Thank you, Dana, for every moment you have selflessly given to our family. You are appreciated and so very loved. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. Last, but not least, Dana may you finally rest in peace, forever treasured and deeply missed. Dana was such a help to our parents in their later days. Kept track of so many details and conveyed such joy and happiness in doing so. Such a giving and wonderful soul. Her once a week visits brightened their house and lasted until her next trip over.

My condolences and prayers go out to all of y´all. I spent countless weekends and summer days at the Jarreau home hanging out with Tori, Tyler and Ms. Dana. Many of my core memories come from my childhood and being over at their house and having so much fun doing water balloon fights, swimming in the pool, riding the golf cart in the sugarcane fields, feeding the horses, as well as being included in many of their family gatherings and get togethers. I remember Ms. Dana as a being welcoming, fun, and laidback. I found some photos from 2010 of when me and Tori used to take photo shoots on our laptops, some of which include Ms. Dana and I think they really can give us all a glimpse into what a fun and great person she was!

Hey my Girl,
I want you to know AGAIN how much I love you. I´m going to miss our messages between us. I truly believed it gave us strength to get pass some really rough times. You are so Beautiful then and especially now. Please tell my Grandmother "MoMo" hi for me. As hard as it is living life on earth you will be blessed, loved and missed by many.
As for me I can´t go without letting you know how selfish it is for wanting you to stay here. The pain you suffered is beyond belief . Last visit we held hands for quite some time. I didn´t want to let go. You are in a much better place.
My Mom misses you especially when it comes tanning together. My Father was reminiscing about softball and how Beautiful you are inside and out.
The rest of my words will remain in my heart because of our Pinky Promises.
Love you even more
