Dana Gayle Magoun

1959 - 2021

Dana Gayle Naidenko Segrest Magoun, 61, died of natural causes at her home on October 26, 2021. Dana was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Martha Beall Naidenko and Greg Naidenko. Upon her Mother's death, she was adopted by relatives Edna Francis King Segrest and her Husband Ben Howell Segrest, Jr., both of whom are deceased. She graduated from Baton Rouge's Lee High School and also attended LSU. Dana has long been a strong, faithful Christian woman, who maintained a deep and abiding love for her husband Michael "Mike" Evan Magoun, who predeceased her in 2001. Mike's Father, Ralph Magoun has been a much beloved rock for Dana and the children. Her heart was filled with love and gratitude for her huge circle of friends and family. Neighbor Elizabeth Dial was treasured as "a second daughter to me" and cherished family friend John Czapla went above and beyond for her and the family over many years. She is survived by her two children, Evan Michael Magoun (Fiancee Kayla Blanchard) and Hanna Gayle Magoun Lott (Husband Logan Lott); her Father Greg Naidenko (Wife Lesa) of Huntsville AL; her Father-in-Law Ralph Magoun (Wife Wanda) of Greensburg LA; as well as her Brothers Ty Ben Segrest (Wife Gaby and Sons Eric and Tyler) of Oviedo FL and William Dow Segrest (Wife Kathryn and Daughters, MacKenzie, Brennan and Peyton) of Baton Rouge and many cousins. Visitation will be held Monday, November 1st 5-7, and Tuesday Nov 2nd 12-2, at Greenoaks Funeral Home with next day service and burial.
