Daryl LeCroy Obituary

Daryl Glenn LeCroy, age 75 years, passed away on October 25, 2018, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, from complications with Parkinson's and dementia. Daryl was born July 1, 1943, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Sylvester Alton LeCroy, deceased, and Lillian E. Bankston LeCroy, deceased. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1961, and attended Georgia School of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta where he achieved a B.S. degree in Engineering. He then went on to complete his J.D. at Woodrow Wilson School of Law in 1973. Daryl practiced law for 39 years. In early 2000, his role in changing the Georgia Child Support laws through court challenges and Supreme Court rulings was one of his highest honors. During his 25 year tenure at the Spiritual Living Center in Atlanta he advanced to the position of Licensed Practitioner where with his belief in eternal energy he counseled members and guided lives. He defied authority, loved to push the limits of social norms, and challenged social conformance. He enjoyed adventures of all kinds but especially with his children, taking annual 30 day vacations, traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and Europe – he instilled excitement and inspiration in everything he attempted. Skydiving, scuba diving, zip-lining, river rafting, snow skiing, boating, long road trips, drum circles, jazz, and writing stories were just a few of his pleasures. His heart was filled with life and he enjoyed a hedonist approach. He is survived by his forever-enchanted wife, LaCretia Lynn Head of Ellijay, Ga.; his children, Holly Christine LeCroy Anderson and her husband Matt Anderson of Colorado Springs, Co., Rachael Alton LeCroy of Atlanta, Ga., and Erik Hunt LeCroy of Ft. Hood, Tx.; his sister Kay LeCroy Bickham of Edmond, Ok., and his brother David LeCroy of Vail, CO.; his nephews Brad Bickham of Boulder, Co., Steve Bickham of Claremont, Ca., and a multitude of life-long, loving friends. The family is preparing a Celebration of Life in Atlanta and will make the announcement when the plans are complete.
