Donald J. "Double D" Deshotels

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church for Donald J. "Double D" Deshotels, 75, who passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 7:03 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center. Msgr. Robert Angelle and Reverend Jerry Mesley will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Mausoleum. Donald, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the son of the late Armand Deshotels and the former Bernadette Connolly. Donald owned and operated Don's Exterminating until retiring in 2010. His hobbies included playing golf, horse racing, going to the Casino, and traveling. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his two sons David A Deshotels and Brent Deshotels and wife Tammy; his former wife, Essie A. Deshotels; his three step sons, Randy Calais and wife Maguerite, Michael Calais and wife Beth, and Anthony Calais; his grandchildren, Tina and Ben Lennard, Brittany and Cesar Ramirez, Ashley, Morgan, Leigh, and Alissa Deshotels, Hayes Lennard, Jeremiah, Kelli, Kayla, Kaci, Sydni, Gavin Calais, and Danielle McManus. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, and five sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Genevieve on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of service.
